Bromleians came into the match off a good 2-0 home win over Belvedere and morale boosting 1-1 draw with Metrogas. On the other hand Fleetdown already looked down and out with only 2 wins from 18 games, after a hugely disappointing 2007/8 campaign.
It took just 8 minutes before the Broms were off the mark, a great run & cross down the right flank from Stephen Wade was turned in by Steve Shippey lurking at the back post.
Bromleians Top Scorer Alfred Keroma, didn't take long to join Shippey on the score sheet after 19 minutes with probably one of the most bizarre goals the striker will score. A seemingly routine back pass was half heartedly chased down by Keroma who turned his back on the goalkeepers kick only for it to hit his heel and turn around to see the ball dribbling over the line.
The shot of the match came from centre half Callum Comerford who found himself in the unusual position of being on the edge of the opposition area. His powerful right footed shot cannoned off the keeper and bar, only for Shippey to win the chase for the rebound with the Fleetdown keeper to stab home after half an hour.
Bromlieans continued to pile on the pressure, and just before the break it was 4-0 to the home side. A great long pass from right back Jamie Collins found Shippey on the wing and after the striker beat two players his inch perfect cross was bundled home by the prolific Keroma.
No changes at the break, and no changes on the pitch either as the Broms continued their dominance.
On 59 minutes a short sharp move ended with Shippey challenging the Fleetdown keeper who subsequently spilled the ball only for Keroma to complete his hat-trick by smashing the ball in the top right hand corner of the goal. 5-0.
Two minutes later his strike partner Shippey could have completed his hat trick but was left ruing a clever scissor kick, only for his shot to go straight at the keeper.
On 70 minutes the Bromleians Management may have a somewhat level of sympathy for the visitors as they replaced the lethal pairing of Keroma & Shippey.
The game drifted along until 88 minutes when Dean Walker added Number six, when a smart finish deceived the Fleetdown defence.
Fleetdown can take heart from their second half performance and try to take that into their relegation clash in two weeks time at Samuel Montagu.
For Bromleians the recent signatures of Key players seems to be having a positive effect on some of the younger players who in turn have risen to 7th place with games in hand on their mid table rivals.
